The monumental ISKCON Bangalore temple was inaugurated on May 31, 1997, by the then President of India, Sri Shankar Dayal Sharma. Since its inception, this cultural complex has been a beacon of hope and inspiration, impacting the lives of millions of individuals without discrimination based on caste, creed, or any other considerations. Presently, it stands as one of the largest ISKCON temples in India. It also serves as the headquarters for the Hare Krishna Movement group of temples across India and abroad.
ISKCON Bangalore is vibrant with activities all year round, particularly during festivals. The temple witnesses a bustling atmosphere, attracting over 100,000 visitors on significant occasions such as Janmashtami, Deepavali, and Vaikuntha Ekadashi. It receives a yearly footfall of around 10 million visitors.
The temple has implemented various social welfare programs, and the Akshaya Patra mid-day meal programme is one of its most prominent initiatives. Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa took a pioneering role in implementing the Akshaya Patra program, extending its reach across the nation. The temple and its initiatives have consistently garnered support and encouragement from global leaders, spiritual teachers, and eminent personalities.
Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda temple was established to fulfill Srila Prabhupada's divine desire to build a grand temple like Tirumala. Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Former President of India, inaugurated the temple on June 14, 2022. He dedicated ISKCON Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda Temple & Cultural Complex in a grand Lokarpana ceremony on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Srila Prabhupada.
